Cleanliness is next to Godliness (as my Nan used to say) and it must be true because after using it for a month, I definitely worship our new battery-powered cordless vacuum cleaner, but why, after so many years happily using a plug-in vacuum cleaner, did we even consider spending a couple of hundred quid on a battery-powered device ?
Much of the more recently built property in North Cyprus (in the last 20 years) is open-plan in design. "Airy and cool in the Summer" (at least that's what it said in the brochure) but flipping freezing in the Winter and definitely not practical in our opinion, for a number of reasons and especially not if you do not want your pets to be able to wander in and out of the kitchen area. So, not long after moving into our house, we decided to insert internal walls to separate the downstairs rooms in our house which means that we have a closed hallway and by keeping doors closed, we can isolate it from the rest of the house.
Why is this relevant ? Well, recently, we decided that the ageing and ailing cats that we allow to stay inside the house, should be moved into the hallway. It frees up the room that we previously allowed them to stay in and gives them more space. Being the main transit route through our home however, means, as we pass through (opening and closing doors as we go) we transfer the cat litter that sticks to our shoes, into other rooms. We needed to solve this problem and decided that the only solution was to regularly clean up the cat litter granules off the floor, but to be able to do it quickly and easily as we pass through. The answer ? A light and easy to use battery-powered cordless vacuum cleaner that we can quickly detach from the wall and run over the floor, several times a day.
There was a choice of two in the shop. One manufacturer's 'make' that I recognised and another that I didn't. The 'make' that I recognised had slightly more battery power which I knew was important and I had decided to buy it, but before I did, I asked the salesman which of the two that he considered to be the best and with limited English, he insisted that the other one was "better". Why did I trust him ? I don't know, but we bought the one that he recommended.
Unboxing and identifying the parts and accessories was relatively easy. The model that we bought has a charging station that fixes to the wall. The charging station holds the main body with the long tube and head attached and all the accessories.
The vacuum is relatively light and easy to handle and push around. There's a trigger-style on/off switch and a button press to increase/decrease the power. Initially, expecting to hear the noise and feel the power of our plug-in vacuum cleaner, I was not impressed, until I discovered that is, that the new battery powered vacuum has three power settings.
There are two different vacuum heads. One for carpets, the other for hard floors. Each of them has a row of four LEDs along its leading edge to light up the floor as you vacuum. Both of them have 'powered', spinning rollers.
We are using it to vacuum cat hairs, dust and granulated cat litter. The vacuum has no problem with cat hairs and dust, but struggles with granulated cat litter that is tight against the wall, or tight in corners, but a combination of the vacuum and a hand brush gets the job done.
The heads connect directly to the vacuum (without the long tube) and this configuration is ideal to quickly vacuum the stairs. Running the vacuum down the stairs removes the cat hairs, dust and most of the granulated cat litter. Following up with the soft hand brush removes isolated cat litter granules.

Best service, with a smile, we have ever experienced. Cannot recommend you highly enough. We have always believed you get what you pay for. So often we hear people complaining about their provider who they initially thought was marvellous and soooo much cheaper but then realise the aftersales service is what counts. Thank you for your hard work and customer service.
